Wow, is it just me or is October a crazy-busy month! We celebrated several birthdays, took part in countless school events, I ran (I use the term ‘ran’ loosely) in my first half marathon, and on, and on and on. I’m so glad it’s over and I’m so looking forward to the upcoming Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons with my family and friends.
Thanks for a great response to our Best For Families reader survey. We’ve received so many submissions already and there’s still time to get your vote in for your favorite things in Wichita. Use the ballot in this magazine or go online to www.wichitafamily.com
and cast the ballot there.
We hope you’re enjoying the several new additions to the magazine. Local mom Jenae Crowley is giving us a treat each month with her column on being a parent to young children. Contributor Erika Marie has been working hard to fill the magazine with a calendar of fun things for families to enjoy in the area so don’t miss that section this month!
We also added a new series on Mompreneurs. The past couple issues have run stories on a local mom who designs and creates hand-stamped jewelry and a mom who has an in-home food preparation business. It’s definitely amazing to see how these moms are making the home business work for them. This month you’ll meet a mom who is designing and manufacturing jewelry made of glass in her late daughter’s honor.
Are you a mom who has started a business and would like to be considered for an upcoming issue? Send me an email at
